What's the difference between these two topics? There seem to be a whole load of these created by a bot.
-
It have different types. One is /american_football/football_game and other is /american_football/nfl_game . Not every football_game is NFL game. And NFL game encapsulates football_game with one additional property of NFL season week number. Each NFL game topic in this load refers to football_game topic of same name. Yes this load was created automatically, but not by "bot" (I hope I'm not a bot :) )
-
So why isn't the same topic typed as both /american_football/nfl_game and /american_football/football_game? /american_football/nfl_game already includes /american_football/football_game, so I don't see why this also needs a property to refer from one to the other. This schema looks broken to me.

You are right. This will be fixed in 1-2 days I think.

I suggest we add the following properties to 'Football coach':
- Coaching position (head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, etc)
- Current team
- Former team(s)
-
Sure, this makes sense. You can have a look at basketball coach to see how its modeled there. If we want to be explicit about the position (versus just tracking head coaches) - we should think about whether we want to model that in both the current and former team properties.
-
this sounds great...when can we expect to see these properties become available?
-
Just took a look at basketball coach. I'd be fine with including things like wins and losses, but I imagine that with how frequently those numbers can change, they're going to be inaccurate more often than not (at least for now). Based on what you've seen, how has that worked out for basketball coach?
Great point about modeling the coaching position in both the current and former team properties. That makes a lot of sense.

OK, I've updated the schema. Have a look. Here's an example using Vince Lombardi

Looks great to me. Thanks!

Is there a way to associate a head coach with a team? I see that there is a type called football coach, but I don't see any way to tie that coach to a team.
-
Err, hrm. Doesn't appear to be, but I'm not a sports person. Seems like there should certainly be a (time-mediated) link between the two.
-
This has been added. See Vince Lombardi or the Green Bay Packers. Cheers.
-
Nice! Thank you.

If I could make a suggestion, though, it might make more sense to have just a list of head coaches instead of making one the current head coach. It'd be much easier to update when a coaching change has happened and would make the data more consistent across types.
