Hi
I love HOUSE.
I'm also a freelance writer and put the two together (writing and House)... penning a 4,238 word paper, HOUSE M.D.
I have sent it to one of the House scriptwriters, Doris Egan. My research tells me that she reads all her mail. So if you choose to read my paper then you will be reading something that AT LEAST one of the shows scriptwriters has read. I deliberately emphasized AT LEAST because I requested that she pass it on to other House insiders. Go to: http://www.docstoc.com/profile/paulbudds
Enjoy!

My dear fellow diagnosticians, grab the PotW's chart and history, put down that book on Lupus (it's never Lupus, haven't you realized that by now?), and meet me by the whiteboard. It's differential time!

It seems the new meme is "It's not cancer" this season....
-
New meme.. I think not. It's always not been cancer. There is a cancer scare almost every episode.
As much as I love the show, it does become a little tedious at times when I can actually guess what the next possible cause will be. :/

I thought it was Lupus that was the first few season's diagnosis du jour...I don't watch this for the mystery, I enjoy the ruthlessness and unsparing honesty of some of the characters (I miss the Amber character) and situations in this show still.

Lupus was mentioned almost every episode for a while (rumor has it that one of the show's writers has Lupus...poor guy...and he wanted to raise awareness around this little-understood illness).
I'm yet to be impressed by Season 5. The writing seems hit-and-miss, the original cast (except for Foreman) is often non-existant, I still can't believe TPTB killed off Amber and I don't understand why Thirteen, the least skilled/talented of all the actors on the show, keeps getting the heavy-duty material that the actress simply can't handle. In addition, I've never been a "Huddy" shipper (more of a "Hameron" fan) so I find the "will they or won't they" theme between House and Cuddy a little tedious.
Oh well. At least The Mentalist, which starts on CBS right after, is there to save the night. (Uh-oh, I'll probably start getting hatemail from die-hard House fans after this...)

I agree, The Mentalist is the new House ;) I've always admired the lead actor and enjoyed the first season or two of his old show, The Guardian.
