The Country Network is a Deerfield Beach, Florida-based country music broadcast television network. It began life as the Artists & Fans Network on January 7, 2009, airing the Kid Rock video "All Summer Long" as its inaugural broadcast on DirecTV channel 236.
In August 2009, after financial problems, Southern Venture Capital Group sold all the assets of the company to one of the founders, Warren Hansen, who then changed its name to American Music Video Network, and rolled out the programming with a new look and feel. On February 15, 2010, the company was renamed "The Country Network" to represent its focus.
The Country Network's slogan is "It's your country". The network's playlist of country music videos extends from the 1980s through today. The network also airs occasional informercials, usually for country music compilation albums. The channel is headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida with limited programming and production facilities in Nashville and a Times Square office in New York City.
The Country Network signed a deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group in August 2010 to be carried on digital subchannels of Sinclair stations in most of its media markets. The station launched on October 10, 2010 and is currently available on over 41 TV stations across the US.
