J.R. Villarreal is an American actor from Dallas, Texas. Villarreal is most famous for his role as Javier opposite Keke Palmer in Akeelah and the Bee. On his first audition he booked the lead in the Fox Pilot Senor White opposite stand-up comedian Ron White, which was directed by Betty Thomas. His second acting audition was equally successful; he booked a guest lead role on the CBS series Without a Trace; he also appeared in a guest role in the television series Cold Case. He can also be seen in the short film Ay Mijo. Besides acting, J.R. enjoys football, basketball, horse-back riding, boxing and spending time with his little sister, Karolinah. [ - ]
