Since leaving Overture, now Yahoo! Search Marketing, in 2002, Jay
Gallinatti has been providing consulting and advisory services to small
and growing Internet businesses. He joined the Zango Board of Director
in November 2004. From June 2003 through June 2005 Jay served on the
Board of Directors of Local Matters, Inc. and was named Chairman in
December 2003. Local Matters is a technology company developing search
solutions that cultivate connections between merchants and consumers.
He joined Overture (previously GoTo.com) as one of the founding members
of the executive management team in March of 1998 as vice president of
sales and customer service. GoTo.com pioneered the concept of “paid
search sponsored listings.” In less than four years, the sales
and service organizations within GoTo grew from a dozen employees to a
team of 250, while the company grew to more than 600 employees
generating over $600 million in revenue and $100 million in net profit,
and executed an initial public offering. Overture was acquired by
Yahoo! in 2003 for $1.6 billion. Prior to joining GoTo, Jay served as
vice president, sales and marketing at Austin ‐ James, Inc., a consumer
software company. He spent nine years at Lotus Development Corporation
in a variety of roles, including West Coast regional director of sales,
and director of marketing for cc:Mail. Jay received his B.A. in Human
Biology from Stanford University in 1978.
