Mount Barnard en
Mount Barnard is a mountain in California and has the dubious distinction of being the highest thirteener, a peak between 13,000 and 13,999 feet in elevation, in the United States. It is located along the Sierra Crest on the border between Tulare and Inyo counties about 2 miles southwest of Mount Williamson which is the second highest peak in the state. Mount Barnard is the twelfth highest peak in California by most standard definitions. If Mount Muir were to be included in the list of the highest California peaks then Mount Barnard would drop to thirteenth. Mount Muir fails to meet the usual criteria for listed peaks by 2 feet of topographic prominence. Wikipedia [ - ]
