Qlikview en
QlikView is a BI tool that uses in-memory analysis and gathers the whole BI process of ETL, analysis tool and report creating into one application. QlikView was created by QlikTech, a Swedish company that is experiencing popularity at the moment. In Business Intelligence, it is considered normal to use an ETL process to retrieve the data that will be used. ETL stands for Extract, Transform and Load. Usually extraction is from various data-sources, such as databases, excel documents and csv files. The transformation phase is needed, since one can extract data from all kinds of sources, it might be necessary to transform the data into some form of standard format, so that all the data can be compared properly. The load phase is to put the transformed data into a datamart where the date will be stored on disk so that one can start working on the data, analyzing it, and creating reports. This is the normal way to go about setting up the back end of a BI-system. QlikView differs from the normal standard described above in different ways, two of which I will mention here. 1.The ETL process. 2.Data Storage. QlikView consists of a whole suite of programs, ranging from the desktop [ - ]
