Richard Shea joined Spiration® in early 2000, and has more than 28 years of medical device and health care industry experience. Mr. Shea has lead Spiration® through significant growth and development and in December of 2003 announced it had successfully secured its 5th round of financing, which has enabled the company to enter clinical trials with its proprietary device platform for the treatment of patients with severe emphysema. Prior to joining Spiration®, Mr. Shea held various positions, both domestic and overseas, encompassing executive management responsibilities in sales, marketing, distribution, research and manufacturing. With early career experience at Johnson Johnson and Abbott Laboratories, Mr. Shea expanded his professional portfolio with several successful early-stage medical companies such as Stericycle (SRCL). Mr. Shea earned his BS in marketing from Nichols College and is on the Board of Directors of Spiration, Inc. [ - ]
