The Bournemouth Beach Olympics (BBO) is an annual athletics event held on Bournemouth Beach , Bournemouth, Dorset. The event was first started in 2006 by co-founders Paul Stevenson, William Taylor and Jay Shotton. It is now in it's third year.Featured in several Bournemouth tourist guides, it was voted Beach event of the year 2006 by the local tourist board. The BBO comprises of a series of events which test the physical and mental endurance of participants. The events themselves are a modern, fun twist on traditional olympic events. The BBO attracts many specatators from around Bournemouth and is well attended by athletes from all over the U.K. and Ireland.
