  • The Presets are an electronic music duo consisting of Australian musicians Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes. The Presets were the first electronic act to win "Album of The Year" at the ARIA Music Awards for their second album, Apocalypso. Formed in 2003 and signed to Modular Records, The Presets released two EPs in advance of their debut album, Beams, released in 2005 to positive critical response. After two years of relentless touring, including Australian shows as main live support for Daft Punk, the band’s 2008 release, Apocalypso, debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, and went on to win six awards at ARIA Awards 2008, including "Best Dance Release", "Best Group", and "Album of the Year". The single, "My People" is the longest charting single in Australian chart history. The band also enjoyed substantial commercial success and airplay with the singles "This Boy’s in Love", "Talk Like That" and "If I Know You". In 2009, The Presets' Hamilton and Moyes won an APRA Award for "Songwriters of the Year" and another ARIA Award, this time for "Best Dance Release" for "Talk Like That". The Presets released their third album, Pacifica, in Australia in September 2012.
