(Although this may change -- we're talking about creating a new type to hang statistical data off of, so that users won't have to query against country/division/city. Couldn't tell you when this will be ready, but it is in the works.)

The description for this type says that this is for top-level divisions within countries. In Australia we have another level of administration below that. It goes Country (Australia), State (Victoria), and then Municipality (City of Yarra). I've been messing with an "Australian Muncipality" type and I made it include "Administrative Division" but I'm not sure if this is right, as municipalities don't have ISO 3166-2 codes, for example. Any thoughts would be most welcome.
i guess i'd say no. but i'm ok with calling a hamlet a plain old city/town, which we equate to the smallest administrative unit of a state (whether a commune in france, or a city or town in the U.S.)

I think hamlets (see Fishers Island, New York) might get coerced into city/town's by people creating /location/mailing_address'es but I think us_citytown is pretty specific and these hamlets are not that.
