Yeah I did find that Victorian search.

I think it would be best to enter library systems and
build out branches from there; when I went to enter "Richmond Library" (my local one when I was in Melbourne) I found that there were lots of similarly-named ones in the US, and without any properties to distinguish my one from the others, it would just be an orphaned topic with little use.

http://www.libraries.vic.gov.au/librarylocator/az.cgi?listServices=1 looks like a not-bad list of public library *systems* in Vic.

You know about the list import tool right? Please tell me you do. It would make this way easier.

Not sure if there's one list for all of Australia. I just found this for South Australian libraries; this only allows a map-based search over all Australian libraries ...

This is cool. It'd be cool to map them on google maps or something showing their emissions, or whatever. I've got some suggestions if you'd like:

1) include the type "structure" which includes "location" in turn

Jeff, it looks better, but it still doesn't map well with Australian politics. There was a discussion about it on the IRC channel earlier today between me, trs80 (from Perth), PaulTomblin (from Canada), and crism. crism said he'd copy-paste the logs and send them to you. We ended up kinda feeling like the Westminster System is sufficiently different from the US system that you can't really generalise them properly.

Jeff, I dunno. Australians don't really use the term "political office" or "state official" the way USians do. I mean, we understand the concept, we just don't talk like that. I'll ponder it a bit and see if I can come up with some terminology that doesn't make me wince. The model itself looks OK. But why does it have all this "State (if State); City (if City)" stuff? Why not just have Location there?

Rather than creating separate types for each kind of elected official (doing so would make the number of types we're creating in the location domain look small and tidy), take a look at the US Political Office Held type. This type should be adaptable to other countries; the reverse property on Australian State should be something like "State Officials" so it can hold both elected and appointed officials.

FYI, I just created an "Australian State Premier" type using this one. I'm using it as a property of "Australian State" but haven't yet figured out what properties it should have. I guess just start and end dates for the premiership? Thoughts welcome.
