I was actually thinking of having the cycles only go as far as components. So they wouldn't be based on purpose - they would however have a genre on the model...

I'll do up a domain. Seems to be the way.

You're correct - the best way to start is to model Cycling in a personal domain and post a request for review, or for harder data-modeling questions, you can join the data-modeling list (here).

My question back to you is, can you generically represent most or all bikes in a single cycling domain? It seems that mountain bikes have different specs that people are interested in (hard-tail, full suspension, type of suspension) vs road bikes (possibly materials and weight). You might want to think about domains centered around a specific biking style.

Howdy Guys,

Haven't been a member long, but I was planning on doing a main domain (not a personal one, but under Special Interests). It was like automotive, but for Cycles (bikes, trikes, tandems - etc).

There are a few personal domains around that are similar. Cyclocross (Mikeshwe) and Bicycles (Collord) - I guess this would be a best of both worlds, like the automotive one.

Am I just being silly? Should I start a personal domain first? I guess this is just to find out what I can actual do, thought it would be better to ask.

Regarding job titles, having worked briefly in a large company where every floor had half a dozen VPs, I can tell you there's a huge difference between say, "VP, LargeInvestmentBankRUs", "VP, LargeInvestmentBankRUs France", and "VP, Fixed Income, LargeInvestmentBankRUs Hong Kong". I know nothing about Exxon Mobil's internal organization, but I'm pretty sure division and region qualifiers in front of job titles like "president" and "manager" are significant.

You found a neat quirk -- it looks like Adjoins can't be made into a horizontal list because, technically, it includes a disambiguating property. This is because the expected type is the CVT "adjoining relationship"; the value displayed is actually a property of the CVT (making that property into a horizontal list didn't do anything).

I think that 'Adjoins' should either be made a horizontal list (like 'contains' & 'contained by')...Or following the advice of the schema editor interface, all three of the above properties should be made to display as vertical lists (apparently considered best for potentially long lists).
