  • The Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir is a Cadre-based religio-political organization in Jammu and Kashmir, distinct from the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. The organisation's stance is that J & K is a disputed territory and issue should be solved according to the wishes of people of jammu and kashmir. The founders of this organization include Islamic thinkers and scholars Molana Ghulam Ahmad Ahrar, Molana Saad-ud-Din Tarabali, Moulana Mufti Mohammad Amin Shopiani, Molana Hakim Gulam Nabi,Qari Saif-ud-Din, Molana Suliman Sahib, Sayed Ali Shah Geelani, Ghulam Rasool Malik, Ghulam Rosool Naik and others. They formed the nucleus around which grew the Islamic movement in the valley of Kashmir, based on a definite doctrine in sync with the socio-cultural essence of Islam. It was formally established in 1953 after formation of separate constitution and saadu din tarbali was elected first ameer. Jamaat islami was main target of Indian forces during mass millitant uprising in nintees,during which thousands of jamaat activists were killed and tortured.It was banned for almost eight years for holding pro freedom stand.
