  • Sohrab has been with Sun Microsystems for more than 12 years. He is a Vice President reporting to the CTO, and is currently exploring new areas of possibilities for Sun's business and technology needs. In this capacity he is looking into the impact that multicore CPU's and the Solaris environment can have in creating a disruptive presence in the networking space. In his previous role as Vice President of N1 Grid Systems Sohrab was responsible for building products, technology and strategy around virtualization, systems management,business services management, automation, grid and Sun cluster technologies for SUN. N1 Grid Systems solutions are designed and built following a common set of architectural principles, with the ultimate goal of "managing N computers as 1". Previous to this, Sohrab has led the architecture and development of Sun Microsystems high availability solutions, including the successful delivery of multiple releases of Sun Cluster. He has also managed the Application Availability Group and strengthened ISVs relationships, while greatly expanding the number of agents supported by Sun Cluster. Sohrab has held numerous other technical and managerial positions at Sun. Before joining Sun Microsystems, Sohrab held technical and management positions at Novell Inc., driving numerous Networking and File Systems projects. Sohrab has also had a business in the manufacture of acrylic products. Sohrab holds an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Physics.
