  • It's a classic! A good starting point for all Science Fiction readers from one of the best authors of the Golden Age of Science Fiction.

  • A great tale of Gods and the uses they make of mortals, one in particular, a forgotten man destined to die more than once in hopes of delivering his kingdom from a terrible curse.

  • I dare anyone to not read this book (and it's the two sequels). It's some of the greatest YA fiction I've ever encountered. There are hidden depths and surprising outcomes that await you.

  • My favorite Regency Romance. I wish somebody at the BBC/PBS would stop endless remaking the Dickens and Austen books. Try a Georgette Heyer book (or two), has humor, romance, dramatic action...

  • the kids will love it... YA Urban Fantasy by the author of the Hallows series. If love em undead, teenaged and angsty, here's looking at you kid.

  • Back when Anne McCaffrey was a real author, she wrote this, one of the most perfect YA fantasy titles. I found this book when I was having a tough time as a teen and it was tremendous uplift to me.

  • The prototypical sword and sorcery tales from the early 1970's. You'll recognize a thousand tropes/memes of later/current fantasy works, without the same verve. D&D gaming must be partly born of this.
