Anmer en
Anmer (born 1910) was a Thoroughbred racehorse who belonged to King George V of the United Kingdom. He only ever won one race. However he was noted for causing the death of Emily Wilding Davison, an outspoken suffragette, in 1913. Anmer was third from last when Emily got underneath the barrier and threw herself in front of Anmer to possibly try and put a suffragette flag on the horse, however there are many theories. Emily died four days later. Anmer suffered bruised shins and his jockey, Herbert Jones, suffered a mild concussion, fractured rib and a slightly bruised face. Anmer made a full recovery and made a return to racing. [ - ]
