In the Sacred Band of Stepsons universe and the Sacred Band novel, Beyond Wizardwall, the Tysian youth Grippa is the brother of Ssuni and the son of Partha, a conspirator in the group who plan the coup at the Festival of Man. Grippa and Sauni are trained for the foot-races at the Festival of Man by Nikodemos. This brings Grippa to the attention of the Nisibisi witch Roxane, who kills him and assumes his aspect as a disguise because Niko favors the youth. After the successful coup, the Stepsons hold games in honor of Grippa and give his father a colt sired by the Band's Tros stallion. [ - ]
