Shawme en
In the Sacred Band of Stepsons universe, Shawme is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who wants more than anything to become a highly-paid courtesan. She finds some magical items on the beach and with several of them buys her way into a job in a famous brothel. The one item she keeps, a silver tube, later brings her into contact with the Stepsons' warrior-mage, Randal, and later with the Stepsons themselves and a shadowy figure called the "Shepherd." In the novel, "The Sacred Band," Shawme's possession of the silvery tube once again brings her into contact with the Sacred Band of Stepsons. Shawme becomes the lover of Kouras, the storm god's son. When Shawme offers the tube, which she has kept all these years, to the Stepsons' mage, she comes to the attention of the Riddler himself and her fate becomes entwined with that of The Sacred Band.
