  • The Post Boy was one of a series of London political newspapers begun at the end oth the 17th Century. The Post Boy was seen as a Tory newspaper, whereas the Whiggs had their "Observator", The "Daily Courant" and the "Flying Post". The Post Boy was owned by A Roper who was also editor to begin with, although L Beardwell's name is also known as an early editor. Abel Boyer took over in 1705, and the paper continued to be influential until 1728, when it was amalgamated with other publications. It was published 3 times a week.
