Commoner en
Being a commoner means that you derive your subsistence, in some way, from the common resources shared by all people. Claiming the right to breathable air, something we all need, could be one manner of professing to be a commoner. Being a commoner doesn't necessarily imply opposition to others, market, or state, and can, in itself, have a positive definition of managing, preserving, and drawing sustenance from the commons or common pooled resources. Many commoners acknowledge that they are involved in "commoning," activities related to the management or preservation of the commons in addition to harvesting the fruits of the productive resources of the commons. In many cases commoners have close ties to natural systems or natural, traditional commons, and this is changing as the resources necessary to produce the desired quality of life are seemingly removed from their natural origins. A commoner might be involved in commoning transportation resources, working professionally to make such resources available to all people. [ - ]
