Use Freebase on Your Site
Enrich, organize and connect your content.
Free, High Quality Content
Freebase provides datasets about millions of things, from movies to dog breeds to beers of the world. These datasets are built by the community, for the community, and are free to use with no complicated license agreements (just link back to us).
With Freebase publisher tools, you control what content appears on your site. Use the latest community contributions, or carefully review and select only the highest quality data. You can also edit and improve the content, so much like open source software, Freebase datasets get better and more comprehensive over time.

Smarter Tagging
If you're looking to better organize and connect your content, tagging it is a good place to start. Instead of using free text, you can tag your content with Freebase topics. Unlike a free-text tag (like "nyc"), a Freebase topic is a reference to a unique, well-defined concept, complete with metadata and its own URL (like New York City).
Tagging your content with Freebase topics makes these powerful discovery and navigation features possible:
Topic Hubs are one page collections of everything on your site related to a particular topic. This helps users with a specific interest find your content in search engines and from other parts of your site. Topic hubs can provide a foundation for communities of interest, topic-based RSS feeds, and targeted advertising.
Freebase Suggest offers topic suggestions whenever a user searches your site. It can autocomplete on millions of Freebase topics, or limit suggestions to a particular type (only Musical Artists or Films). Freebase topics are unique, so Suggest can help distinguish between things that share the same name (which Kennedy High School?). Learn more or download it for free.
Related Links are a valuable addition to any article. With Freebase, you can show related links that are richer, deeper, and more comprehensive. If you tag an article with the topic Will Ferrell, Freebase can suggest articles you have tagged with the TV show Saturday Night Live, the actor John C. Reilly, or the movie Anchorman. We can also suggest related links from third party sites that use Freebase tags.
Embeddable Widgets can be built from Freebase's comprehensive collection of images, descriptions, and metadata related to each topic. Freebase also makes it easier to connect to third party content, so you can build widgets to show Barack Obama's latest Twitter updates, or add Anchorman to a user’s Netflix queue, without having to learn several APIs.
Data Syndication
Do you have data that belongs in Freebase? Join data providers like MusicBrainz, TVDB, and the Oxford Bottled Beer Database who have discovered that syndicating your data with Freebase has benefits like these:
Database Mapping
Syncing your database with those of other major websites - like IMDB, Wikipedia or The New York Times - can be difficult. Metaweb (the company behind Freebase), has deep expertise in the area of data reconciliation and may be able to help. To learn more, contact us.
