Loyal is best known for its biggest event; the Loyal Corn Festival. In August 2011, it celebrated its 53rd annual Corn Festival, and its events included the usual truck/tractor pulls, concerts, carnival rides, dances, Spanky's Run, Jillybeans Dash, corn eating, talent shows, Corn Festival Parade, and more. New in 2011 included corn-eating contests, and a brand new group hosting the carnival.
Loyal is home to three high schools; Loyal Elementary School, Loyal High School, and Saint Anthony's Catholic School.
