Chris DiMarco shot a five-under 67 to finish with the first round lead. Vijay Singh and Luke Donald each shot a four-under 68 to finish one stroke behind DiMarco in second. Tiger Woods struggled through much of his round ending at two over par. After the round, Woods was questioned by rules officials for an illegal putting stance on the 14th before getting the all-clear. Billy Casper shot the worst round in Masters history on Thursday with a 34-over par 106.
