The Trust markets the house as "the birthplace of the Beatles", since this is the place where The Beatles composed and rehearsed their earliest songs. It was also the birthplace of the group The Scaffold, of which Michael McCartney was a member.
The Magical Mystery Tour stops at the house for tourists to view the house from the outside. A visit of inside is run by The National Trust and starts from the Beatles Experience at the Albert Dock.
