Carrie and Stanford attend a baby shower for their friends Kyra (portrayed by Tatum O'Neal) and husband Chuck. Unexpectedly, this family has a "no shoes" in the house rule and forces Carrie to leave her Manolos at the door. Unfortunately, when it comes time for the twosome to leave, Carrie's shoes have been stolen. Kyra offers to pay for the shoes, but declines to pay the full retail of $485. It leaves Carrie to ponder if her life is taboo for being single and having expensive taste, instead of the traditional 2.5 and a white picket fence.
