Adam-Troy wrote four Spider-Man novels, including the Sinister Six trilogy. His own continuing characters include the crime-solving Andrea Cort, who appears in his novella "Unseen Demons" and in the novels EMISSARIES FROM THE DEAD and THE THIRD CLAW OF GOD. He also created the inept spacemen, Ernst Vossoff and Nimmitz, who appear in the collection Just a Couple of Idiots Reupholstering Space and Time. He is a DVD reviewer for the website SCIFI WIRE and a book reviewer for SCI FI magazine.
In 2007, Castro and Jerry Oltion won the Seiun Award for Best Foreign Language Short Story of the Year for "The Astronaut from Wyoming."
In 2009, Castro won the Philip K. Dick Award for Emissaries from the Dead.
