The character debuts in the title Fantastic Four and is established as an artificial human created by a group of scientists called the Enclave. The Enclave plan to exploit Him – all the character is initially known as – for their own gain. Superhero team the Fantastic Four investigate Him's creation, and subsequently escape when Him "hatches" from his cocoon and begins to cause the base to self-destruct. Him abandons his masters and departs Earth for space. Him, however, is caught in an asteroid shower and saved by cosmic entity the Watcher, who sends the character back to Earth. Discovering the Asgardian goddess Sif, Him decides to take her as his mate, which incites the fury of the Thunder God Thor. Him...
