Ron excitedly announces to his roommates that "They're giving away money!" and leads them to a kiosk outside the dorm where they're holding registration for credit cards. Marshall uses his newly acquired card to get a thick wad of money that he has no intention of spending, Ron uses his to invest in a company called Anatomical Industries (which recreates human stomachs in petri dishes) and convinces Lloyd to join him, and Steven -- who had just gotten a failing grade on a paper -- uses his to pay a townie named Dave (Will Ferrell) to write a paper on Madame Bovary for him.
All endeavors work out well at first. Marshall enjoys having a wad of dollars to carry around, Steven gets an A on the paper which Dave wrote for him, and Ron and Lloyd make thousands of dollars off their stock. Rachel and Lizzie are also having trouble with their papers, so Steven refers them to Dave. It is revealed that Dave's speed addiction that enables him to write papers in a short time.
