Born in Broken Hill, she moved to Adelaide with her mother when she was eight. Horne attended the Flinders University Drama Centre in 2004 and 2005 and then moved to Sydney to continue her studies in acting at NIDA.
In 2008 Horne filmed for television series East West 101 , performed in Gallipoli at the Sydney Theatre Company under the direction of Nigel Jamieson, and sung the title track for an upcoming film Street Angel and in the AFI Award winning documentary A Northern Town.
