Albert R.N. was a dummy constructed by British naval officers in Marlag O prisoner of war camp in northern Germany. It was used as a stand-in for a head count while a prisoner escaped. The story was later made into a 1953 World War II film starring Anthony Steel and directed by Lewis Gilbert.
