Alberto Torrico

Alberto Torrico (born March 18, 1969 in San Francisco, California) is the California State Assembly Majority Leader and has been a member of the California State Assembly since December 6, 2004, succeeding term-limited Assemblyman John Dutra. Alberto Torrico (born March 18, 1969 in San Francisco, California) is the California State Assembly Majority Leader and has been a member of the California State Assembly since December 6, 2004, succeeding term-limited Assemblyman John Dutra. He represents the 20th Assembly District which includes Fremont, Newark, Union City and Milpitas among other cities in the East Bay. A Democrat, Assemblyman Torrico serves in both the Hispanic Caucus as his father is from Bolivia and the Asian Pacific Island Caucus as his mother is Japanese. This makes him the first California state assemblyman to serve in two different ethnic caucuses.
