Hyde-White was born in London, the son of Ethel M. (née Korenman), a stage manager who acted under the name Ethel Drew, and the late British actor Wilfrid Hyde-White. Though he has since remarried, Alex was formerly married to actress Karen Dotrice, daughter of actor Roy Dotrice. He produced the 2002 independent romantic drama, Pursuit of Happiness. He has worked with Steven Spielberg three times, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (as Young Henry Jones, played later by Sean Connery, which explains why he was not clearly visible in this role), Catch Me If You Can and Tintin: Legend of the Unicorn, due for release in 2011.
