Andrew Alcott "Andy" Hallett (August 4, 1975 – March 29, 2009) was an American singer and actor best known for playing the part of Lorne (The Host) in the television series Angel. Andrew Alcott Hallett was an only child. He was 6 foot 2 inches tall and hailed from the Cape Cod village of Osterville, Massachusetts, which is part of the town of Barnstable. He was a 1993 graduate from Barnstable High School and he went onto Assumption College in Worcester after graduation.
He did not begin singing publicly until he was invited onstage at a concert, and discovered the thrill of performing. The Boston Globe quoted an earlier interview with Hallett in his obituary: "The first time I sang out loud in front of other people was in Boston at Harborlights when Patti Labelle was there", he told the Globe in 2000.
