Angelo Bertelli

Angelo Bortolo Bertelli (June 18, 1921 - June 26, 1999) was an American football quarterback. He played six games for Notre Dame in 1943 before leaving to join the United States Marine Corps. He was awarded the Heisman Trophy for that season. He was nicknamed the "Springfield Rifle" because he hailed from West Springfield, Massachusetts, and he was one of the early true forward passers in college football.
