Apopka has about 26 total sports teams. The football team won the first State Championship in 2001. This marks the first such title for an Orange County Public School. The team also won the District Title in 2000. In 2006 the team won the 6A-4 district title by beating East Ridge High School, and the Metro Conference title. In 2007 the team won the 6A-4 District Championship by beating East Ridge High School 48 - 16. The 2007 Regional 6A playoffs began as expected with Apopka defeating Timber Creek 30-22.
