Asako Kishi (岸 朝子 Kishi Asako, born November 22, 1923 in Tokyo) is a Japanese journalist who specializes in cooking.

Asako Kishi (岸 朝子 Kishi Asako, born November 22, 1923 in Tokyo) is a Japanese journalist who specializes in cooking.
Kishi graduated from Kagawa Nutrition University in 1942. She joined the Shufunotomo company in 1955, and started her writing career while raising her four children. She later joined the publishing department of Kagawa Nutrition University and served 10 years as editor-in-chief of the magazine Eiyō to Ryori (栄養と料理, Nutrition and Cooking) from 1968 to 1978. While there, she increased the size of the sales department and embarked on new plans.
In 1979 she struck out on her own to create a publishing company specializing in magazines and books on cooking and nutrition.
From 1993 to 1999, she appeared regularly as one of the judges on the original Iron Chef television program on Fuji Television, billed as a "cooking writer for 40 years."
