Asobi Seksu (colloquial Japanese for "casual sex", or more literally "playful sex") is an indie band based in New York City. The band was originally known as Sportfuck. In 2001, they released their first self-titled EP. Shortly after the release of the EP, the band changed their name to Asobi Seksu.. Their full length debut followed in 2004. The band regrouped with a new rhythm section for their second album, Citrus, which was recorded in Gigantic Studios, New York City with producer Chris Zane. Released in 2006 by Friendly Fire.
One Little Indian Records re-released the band's first album Asobi Seksu and the follow-up Citrus in 2007.
