Avascular necrosis

Avascular necrosis (also osteonecrosis, aseptic (bone) necrosis, ischemic bone necrosis, and AVN) is a disease resulting from the temporary or permanent loss of the blood supply to an area of bone. Without blood, the bone tissue dies and the bone collapses.
