Both her parents had claimed that she had been stolen by a dingo from their tent. However after many inquiries and the questioing of Azaria's mother Lindy Chamberlain, it appeared that she never showed any emotion to the disappearance of her daughter. Many believed this was because Lindy Chamberlain herself was responsible for her daughter's death. She was later charged with the murder. More evidence was then uncovered that exonerated the Chamberlains.
