She is married to musician Ringo Starr, former drummer of The Beatles. Bach was born Barbara Goldbach in Rosedale, Queens, New York City, New York, the daughter of Marjorie and Howard I. (1922-2001) Goldbach, a policeman. She was the oldest of five children. Her father was Austrian Jewish and her mother was Irish Catholic, and she attended a Catholic high school, Dominican Commercial in Jamaica, Queens. Bach left school at sixteen to become a model, quickly rising to the ranks of top models.
