Barnaby French (born 25 November 1975) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.
French attended Pembroke School in Adelaide. Originally a part of the Australian under 23s rowing team, he then focused on Australian rules football.
The 200cm ruckman was recruited from Sturt Football Club in the SANFL onto Port Adelaide's rookie list. He made his debut in 1999 as a 23-year-old and went on to play 62 games and kick 20 goals for the club. However, he was the club's number three or four ruckman behind Matthew Primus, Dean Brogan and possibly Brendon Lade.
He moved to Carlton in 2003. There, he took the position of number one ruckman, and proved weekly to be one of Carlton's most important players. He announced his retirement at three quarter time of the Blues' Round 22, 2006 match against Sydney.
