Barry Brandt is a drummer and founding member of Angel.
Barry Brandt was the driving force behind Angel. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1952. Self-taught, he plays guitar and bass guitar. In 1973 he played in a pre-BUX band called MAX. He also played in CHERRY PEOPLE after Punky Meadows had left. He has recorded with Alice Cooper's guitarist Michael Bruce and on David Della Rossas' "Nothin But Trouble" record.

During the Angel years, 1974 to 1981, he played white Ludwig drums and Paiste cymbals. He now plays DW Drums. His heavy, intricate and powerful drumming was influenced by John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, among others. Brandt has influenced many hard rock or metal drummers.
