This movie was inspired by a true story, following the life of a young man being released from prison after an 8 year sentence. In the beginning of the movie "G," who is played by The Game, leaves prison determined to keep the straight life, swearing he will not be locked up again.
However, once he returns to Compton, it doesn't take long before he eases back into his old lifestyle. He starts hustling on the streets again, and meets a lady named Alexis (Shari Headley). However, both are hiding their secret lives (G being a hustler, Alexis being an undercover cop), and end up falling in love.
Later on, G's friend Tone (Micheal K. Williams) gets shot on his birthday by the crooked Officer Coleman (Ed O'Ross). At Tone's funeral G meets the officer, who discusses 150 kilos of cocaine...
