Bill Slakey is Tropos Networks' Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer. He brings more than 20 years of experience
strengthening company and financial operations and building
relationships with Wall Street. Prior to joining Tropos Networks, Mr.
Slakey was Chief Financial Officer for Extreme Networks, a provider of
enterprise and carrier switching products. While there, Mr. Slakey
played an important role in the company's return to profitability and
led Extreme's successful Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program. Prior to
Extreme, Mr. Slakey was Chief Financial Officer for Handspring, Inc. At
Handspring, he helped the company refocus its business on the newly
created market for integrated smartphones, and played a key role in the
company's successful merger with Palm Computing. Mr. Slakey's has also
served as the Chief Financial Officer of WJ Communications, a leading
RF semiconductor company, and SnapTrack, Inc., a leading provider of
advanced GPS technology to wireless carriers and semiconductor
manufacturers which was acquired by QUALCOMM. He also has held senior
finance and investor relations positions at 3Com, Apple and Palm
Computing.
Mr. Slakey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
