Birdcatcher (1833-1860), or Irish Birdcatcher, was a good Thoroughbred racehorse and a leading sire. Foaled in 1833 at the Brownstown Stud, in Ireland, Birdcatcher was by the Irish Thoroughbred stallion Sir Hercules, who lost only once at St. Leger in 1829.
