In the report of the Ofsted inspection on 5 June 2006 the school was rated Good, point two on a four point scale. Each topic was rated outstanding or good with, notably, none less than good. However, the highest possible award of Outstanding was given for the Personal development and well-being of the pupils.
A two year project started in April 2004 in which children made radio shows. Bishop Ellis worked with Dovelands Primary School, Fullhurst Community College and Takeover Radio.
