Blacksmiths is a coastal suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located on the Pacific Ocean 24 kilometres (15 mi) south of Newcastle's central business district, between the suburbs of Belmont and Swansea.
The area was unsuitable for development until 1947, when flood mitigation works were completed. Subdivision took place in 1948. The public school opened in 1962.
