Mary is the Mother of God because Jesus is God and Mary is the Mother of Jesus. He loves Her as His Mother. Mary is the greatest of God's merely human creatures. She was His Masterpiece of Grace when She walked the earth. She is now His Masterpiece of Glory in Heaven, the greatest, most beautiful, and most powerful of all the saints. Although she is nothing by comparison to God, since She is merely finite whereas God is infinite, nevertheless, Mary has more of God's Grace in Her soul in Heaven than all of the other souls in Heaven, plus all of the holy souls in Purgatory, plus all of the souls on earth possessing God's Grace, combined. She is, then, greater than St. Joseph, greater than St. John the Baptist. Greater than any of the Apostles. All things beneath God are subject to Mary. She is the Queen of Heaven and Earth and is depicted as such in the Book of Revelation, wearing a crown of twelve stars.
Mary has repeatedly come to Earth from Heaven for the purpose of calling men into, or back into, the One True Church, the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic practice, which is an obligation in justice, is to venerate Mary--not to worship Her, since worship is reserved to God. Virtually all of the other 30,000 religions, all of which are false religions, reject the practice of honoring Mary. So when She comes to earth and works miracles, it is evidence that non-Catholics should pay attention to, since those miracles point to Roman Catholicism as being the only True religion. For example, She came to Fatima, Portugal six times in 1917 and worked a spectacular miracle witnessed by a crowd of 70,000 people who gathered in that small town for the purpose of witnessing the miracle, which was predicted in advance. She also made several predictions at Fatima almost all of which have come true, and none of which have been shown to be false. For example, She predicted that if Russia were not consecrated to Her Immaculate Heart, then Russia would spread its errors throughout the world. This is exactly what happened with the spread of Russian Communism throughout the world.
One of the best books on Mary to read is "True Devotion to Mary" by St. Louis de Montfort.
