Boaz grew up in Portland, and attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In 2004, Boaz appeared on the Today Show's "The Intern" segment where he went on to win the top prize. It was also during this year that Boaz appeared on the very short-lived WB reality show, Studio 7. In 2004 Boaz created and hosted Clips & Quips, an offbeat entertainment talk show that aired on college television stations nationwide. He revolutionized the world of kazooing by having the first kazoo-sponsored TV show and even taught Peter Sarsgaard to play kazoo and Sarah Silverman to play dreidel.
